By request, we've now made our relaxing eyemasks available online. We've chosen mulberry silk (the highest quality silk made) in a champagne taupe color, and a Shannon Brand Minky Cuddle fabric (the top dog of minky manufacturers) in a dark smoky grey. Working with these one-of-a-kind fabrics aren't easy, but the comfort achieved is so worth it! The silk side retains a cooling property, while the minky side offers cozy-er warmth. We initially made these to block light sensitivity, and help one of our Special Olympians with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia. But we found they had other uses...for a chronic migraine-sufferer, for someone that needed deep sleep during the day, and for someone that needed comfort from irritated eyes. The soft, shimmering elastic strap has no breaks or bumps. It goes all the way around without being too tight for the average adult (it's been tested on someone as short as 5'0", up to 6'1" with no problem for either). It's not your Grandma's elastic either...rather it's the silky-feeling-kind frequently used for custom ponytail ties, called Foldover elastic (FOE). We left it flat so that backsleepers would have minimal movement.
Mulberry Silk is 100% natural, odorless, and hypoallergenic. It's natually produced by the silkworms of the beautiful Bombyx Mori SilkMoth, who are pampered in controlled environments and eat only mulberry leaves. Hence the name. The process is fascinating, and just the kind of thing we enjoy learning about. MountainMan fabrics are touched by Very Special hands...twin young men that are Special Olympic athletes. Our athletes take pride in handwriting your address on the parcel and decorating it with seasonal stickers. Every order receives a customer note, individually written to you, by Gold Medalist Runner, Curt. Your parcel will be hand-delivered to our local postal counter by Colton, a Gold Medalist Slalom Skier, who is the keeper of the mailbag and mailkey. He's also responsible for the all-important receipt and typing in the looong tracking numbers for your closure messages. Besides being Colton's favorite place to go, delivering your items to the postal counter keeps Us in control of your items til the very last moment. Which protects them from extra handling until they're officially on the way to you...rather than sitting in a receptacle somewhere awaiting processing. You'll be delighted to receive your order as "gift-presentable," sealed and tied with ribbon.
~Could we ship cheaper by using pre-printed labels? Yep, most definitely. Will we ever do that? NOPE.
~We pay full price tracking service when we take your parcel personally to the postal counter so you can track it all the way.
~We stand in line at our post office for human-to-human processing, not just a drop-the-tote-and-go. We do this because we want less hands touching your stuff, and to be in full control of your order until the last possible point of departure. We take our responsibility seriously, more so than ever since Covid came to town. And did I mention, they Love going to the Post Office!
***Care Instructions...Handwash in gentle detergent (no soaking), and Air Dry. Silk dries very quickly so it's not recommended for the clothes dryer.
